Tabra designs each Treasure Bracelet one component at a time, each with the right combination of symbols, stones, and shells.

This bracelet includes Chinese turquoise, fire agate, red horn, and Afghani lapis lazuli. Lapis is associated with strength, courage, truth and friendship. It has been worn to ward off evil and to improve eyesite.

Lapis lazuli has been mined in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan for 6,500 years, and trade in the stone is ancient enough to have been found at pre-dynastic Egyptian sites, and lapis beads at neolithic burials in Mehrgarh, the Caucasus, and as far away as as Mauritania.

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, lapis was considered an amulet of great power. The ancient royal Sumerian tombs of Ur contained more than 6000 beautifully executed lapis statuettes. Sumerian and Akkadian poetry make reference to lapis as a gem befitting royal splendor.
